Yes, ceremonies will be presented via YouTube livestream on the Commencement website. The livestream starts 15 minutes prior to each ceremony.
Yes, each graduate participating is allotted six guest tickets for family and friends. Each guest, 2 years or older, must have a ticket to enter. Tickets are non-transferable and only valid for the ceremony for which they are issued. Guests are subject to security screening, and a clear bag policy will be in effect. Instructions on claiming guest tickets will be provided to participating graduates during the reservation period. The Bren School and College of Creative Studies do not require guest tickets.
During the reservation process, graduates will have the opportunity to join a waitlist for additional tickets. If capacity allows and additional tickets become available, graduates will be notified by May 22.
Yes, graduates completing their degree and declaring candidacy during 2026, whether it be winter, spring, summer, or fall, are eligible and should participate in the June 2026 ceremonies.
If a student declares candidacy in the fall following Commencement, they will be eligible to participate in the June 2027 ceremonies. Graduates should continue to check their Umail account the following year for communications regarding Commencement.

No. Only service animals specifically trained to assist a person with a disability are permitted on ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø during Commencement. For the safety of your pet and all guests, please leave your pet at home.
No. Alcohol, including celebratory champagne, is not permitted at Commencement and will be confiscated and discarded.
No. Smoking and the use of smokeless tobacco or unregulated nicotine products (such as electronic cigarettes) is prohibited on and within UCSB-managed property. We thank you for not smoking or using any tobacco products.
